Bitterroot Custom
S/N 050
As I mentioned in the "Beat That" summary page, this model is actually the Selway model, but it was built to commemorate a major milestone in my shop in Montana as The Bitterroot #050. This guitar was built with the same tooling as a Selway Model, but we added lots of "extras" to make it special.
It had a master grade set of Koa as well as a master grade German Spruce Top (with an abalone and multi purfling rosette). The backstrip is a small zipper instead of a large zipper.
The binding package on this guitar was Macassar ebony with multi line purfling, which also included a bound fingerboard.
This custom model had a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with no inlay, as well as a Brazilian Rosewood bridge (versus the standard Selway callout of Ebony). The peghead has abalone logo inlay.
The nut and saddle are ivory, and the end/bridge pins are bone.
The guitar finish is a natural, with the exception of the neck highlighting which is a "Honey" colored.
